On 12-13 December 2015 Colorado Springs, USA, will host the 1st Para Athletics Coaching Conference. The theme of the conference will be “Destination Rio 2016 – preparing for prime performance”.

The 1st Para Athletics Coaching Conference is designed to promote para athletics knowledge and bring coaches from around the world together to discuss and exchange coaching practices for the improvement of athletes and the sport.

1st Para Athletics Coaching Conference Objectives:

• Education or confirmation on training practices—general and by different classifications

• Education about IPC Athletics and how it all works

Target audience

The target audience include high performance directors, national coaches, classifiers and team support staff including strength and conditioners, nutritionists and physiotherapists.

Theme and content

The 1st Para Athletics Coaching Conference will be organised around the theme “Destination Rio 2016 – preparing for prime performance”.

The theme will be discussed in keynote presentations, event specific breakout sessions, and forum discussions.
